A Fun-Filled Party!
We’re on the eve of our big Garden Party, and there is so much to look forward to!
We’re starting off with experiencing the culinary expertise of Rees Campbell, who will be running her Feisty Tasmanian Wild Foods Masterclass from 10am to 12pm. UPDATE: Rees is unwell so this event has been cancelled.
Sync or Swing and Adam Chambers will be entertaining from our Main Gazebo from 11am, which is the perfect backdrop for sampling craft beer, ginger beer and gins from Communion Brewing and Deviant Distillery. The wafting aroma of freshly cooked Jacket Potatoes or our Sausage Sizzle might tempt you too, if you’re feeling peckish. Or grab a picnic pack (for two) from our Rosetree Cafe and find a cosy spot.
Absolutely delectable desserts and Ice-cream are the perfect way to satisfy that sweet tooth, with Forbidden Sweets and I Serve Ice Cream both stationed near our Main Building.
V and GF Options available - full list of inclusions at our Rosetree Cafe
Dr James McGregor will be explaining the Platypus Research he has been doing within our Garden at 10.30am, 12pm and 1.30pm alongside Lake Grebe, and you can meet Hannah Moloney from Gardening Australia nearby in the Wisteria Carpark from 12.15pm, and learn more about effective composting.
Keep the kids amused within our Hybrid Hideaway (Playground) with Rock Painting, A Colouring Competition (there are prizes!), Fairy Stories - with Fairies and bubbles of course!
For those with Green Thumbs or an Artistic Flair; from 11am you can learn more about Plants from Kazz, our resident Tree Fairy, with our Dichotomy Activity or head to the North American Gazebo at 1pm for a Sketching Workshop with the Burnie Coastal Art Group.
Back to the Main Gazebo with Black Current Tango keeping the vibes going from 1-3pm.
Hannah will be judging the fanciest of Garden Hats and the Colouring Competition from 2pm, so show your best swag.
Parking will be at the Show Grounds, with transportation to the Garden via Bus. Disabled visitors or Families with small children may park directly at the Garden. See you there!
